I love fashion, and I love building Fashion websites… Because they need to change every 6 months I build a framework that won’t date but has the ability for the look to change (colours, fonts if needed, cover-shots & of course the actual collections). Usually this can be used for about 4 seasons without any changes apart from the images and then we can rethink and make minor updates once you feel like you need it or if you want to change the look entirely. I build sites that do not date quickly, and that can be refreshed easily, but it’s always good to rethink and add new technologies as they develop.
Now, with Shopify, I can build eCommerce stores relatively cheaply and turn them around quickly as we don’t need to custom develop the back-end and depending on what you require, we may not even need a developers time at all. I do this using templates but your site would never look the same as someone else’s as I use the template as a structural base and change the design completely. This keeps the cost down, but we can always get a developer involved and build as much custom functionality as you need, if you want that too. Shopify updates all it’s security and code, so instead of needing to completely rebuild the backend every 5-or-so years (as you do with a custom build), you can get a lot more longevity out of a site built using Shopify.
